| Farmstay
Transfers |
| Transfers can be provided by the farmstay
hosts for those guests that are travelling by public
transport or sightseeing coach. Rural Tourism will arrange
for the farmstay hosts to collect guests from a pre
arranged meeting point (usually a bus or train station)
and return them there at the completion of their farmstay.
There is a small charge for these transfers however
the charge is considerably less than the cost of a taxi
or shuttle service which is also less common in rural
areas. |

| Host
Family Information |
| Due to the law governing the New Zealand
Privacy Act, the amount of information able to be advised
about individual host families in advance is limited.
Information given by Rural Tourism covers the key points
about the farmstay destination and host family. Of course,
the host families will want to talk about themselves
in detail while guests are there. |
| Amendment
of Hosts |
| All Rural Tourism farmstays are 'working
farms'. On rare occasions, a host may need to suddenly
cancel at short notice. The reasons for cancellation
or amendments are nearly always personal reasons such
as sudden illness or family reasons, but Rural Tourism
respects the privacy of the host family when advising
of changes and will not divulge details.
In such cases, Rural Tourism will allocate an alternative
farmstay. In the absolute worst-case scenario, and
alternative form of accommodation will be offered,
but this rarely happens.
